if it has then you should be covered by the extended

hybrid Battery warranty

tbh 67000 sounds very early for a hybrid Battery to fail

Don't even think about the hybrid Battery yet.

First of all you need to read (or have someone else read for you) the OBD2 fault codes and see what that tells you. Again, don't jump in with both feet straight away - these codes are only a starting point for further testing and diagnostics.

As long as the yearly Hybrid Battery health check is done, additional hybrid Battery warranty is extended for another year for up to 15years. So traction Battery change should not be a worry for the ownership of most.

Now I have something to show with the service just before the car is 5 years old. October this year.

Is it true that if I do not want to service with Lexus/Toyota I can have the hybrid check for 59£ (68 - 69€)?

So far I have not been impressed with the knowledge the service people have here on the island. Or driving as little as we do, maybe one yearly service is not so much to pay for hybrid security.

I am a somewhat of the opinion that Hybrid cars may be a bit unorthodox service wise for the local indy.

But you do need to have confidence in the people who service your cars, I am very happy with my Lexus dealers performance and as such would recommend them. Our Ct200h only does about 3,000 mls a year, even so it is serviced by Lexus on a fixed price 3 year service plan that is paid monthly which includes the Hybrid Battery report. I have the MOT done at the same time and the car is picked up from my home address some 15mls away and returned when all work is completed.

I also take advantage of the 2 for 1 year extended warranty which for £250 per year includes MOT cost and full Roadside assist/ breakdown cover and insurance against any MOT failure costs, which is very good value considering half of that would be needed for breakdown cover alone.

Could I shop around and get things done at the same standard and maybe cheaper? Quite possibly but having all my eggs in one basket helps build a good relationship and I think that has benefited me to a large extent in discounts and addons.

1) Absolutely. That is why I am giving them a 3rd try.

2) Asked about such a plan here and was informed that no such thing exist here.

3) Only specialized companies that do nothing but renew permission to drive our cars are doing this here. No Lexus, no Mercedes, no Toyota, no VW.

4) Would be nice but seems not likely to happen here.

I downloaded the Lexus Hybrid CT200H service details. Covering years of use. Mostly they are checks. It does not need a Lexus Service Dealer. My local garage can do it all. Way cheaper and maybe better. My experience of Lexus Servicing was poor.  I do low milage . The main problem is the auxiliary Battery. I have to charge it separately every  week. It would not last a fortnight stay at an airport car park, I am on my 3rd aux Battery. With weakly charging I am now on top of it. I fitted a charging port for the aux Battery.  14,500 miles on the clock/ODO.
