I'm currently looking to change my car (2012 RX450h) and have seen a few F Sport 2018/19 with active suspension and my question is how does this suspension work, is it air suspension or electronic dampers, and has anybody had any issues with this set up? Also coming from a non F Sport vehicle am I likely to find this a more harsh ride? Thanks in anticipation.

I had a 4th Gen RX with adaptive suspension which is achieved with electronically controlled dampers. It had a very comfortable ride and was quite soft in normal driving. It instantly firms up when you want to push on a bit. I had the Premier model and F-Sports tend to have a firmer setup but this is not an issue with the AVS.

I have AVS in my 450h (not an F Sport) and it does make a difference if you’re pushing on.  I have set my custom setting to engine and HVAC to normal and suspension to sport.
