Replacement Headlamps

Has anyone replaced their halogen headlamps with LED equivalent bulbs on a GS300?  I have an 04 model (from new) and despite 180k miles it continues to run really well.  Just one thing though, the headlamps are not bright enough especially on dip, hence the idea of replacements.  The dealer (Lexus Poole) is not very helpful, it seems a fairly straightforward job to change the bulbs but there may be pitfalls.  Advice would be really appreciated.

Can’t help with advice on LED bulbs,as you say they may be legality or other issues.

The simple alternative is to fit uprated halogen bulbs.I’ve done this many times in the past,and while you won’t transform your lights to the brightness of LED or hid you will change them from poor to adequate.

I replaced the standard HID bulb on my IS250 with new Osram Xenarc bulbs, which provided a considerable improvement.  They were D4S, so different from yours, I suspect.  But I can recommend the supplier, Autobulbsdirect, and they have a bulb checker that will specify the correct bulb upgrade for you.
