Just read the owners manual and it states if Battery needs replacing light will dim on the remote,do's not mention anything else about it flashing or staying on

not sure colin.. i dont park my car outside my house as I have a more secure parking area. So i did not walk back to the car

I just noticed it when i took the keys out of my pocket when i went to open my front door... seems ok now

Steve if you find the remote won't unlock the car try holding down the unlock button for 30 seconds at a time whilst next to the car. The remote will go through the rolling code sequence until the correct code is replayed. This happens on the Toyota 5000 alarm if you press the button a few times without the car knowing - not sure what type of alarm you have.
