All of a sudden I get loss of reception and interference when turning on rear demist.

I have looked on forums and learned that the rear window demisting grid acts as an aerial for the radio as well as the plastic one on the roof.

The demist works and successfully clears the misty window and when not on the FM radio works fine as clear as a bell.

Any thoughts anyone please?

It's possible that there may be a high-resistance break in the track. This is for a 450h but should help:

Thanks for this. However if there was a scratch or break in the actual matrix surely the demister would not work?

True, but this test is for continuity of the 'antenna' tracks.

Mines had a small break (about 1") in the bottom ever since I have owned it (7+ years) and the rest of the demister always works perfectly ... I've also had no problems with radio reception, mine has the pioneer stereo, do you have the pioneer or the Levinson ?
