Disable Navigation Menu on start up?

On every start up, after the safety warning screen disappears, I get the Navigation Menu Screen appear and it stays there until I clear it by pressing the back button. Does anyone know how I can disable this? There is nothing in the manual and I am almost certain that this menu did not keep automatically appearing when I first got the car. Secondly, my user manual shows (in a list of options under "Navigation Settings") an option for displaying the speed limit on my map display but this one option is missing from the list in my settings menu in the actual car. Can we set the nav so it always displays the posted speed limit somewhere in the display screen? Thanks
