iPhone app for LC 500

Recommended Posts

There's Lexus Link, but it is fairly limited:

https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/lexus-link/id1162205259

I would expect things to be different when Lexus eventually rolls out the CarPlay upgrade for the navigation system, but don't expect the same sort of functionality that they have in the US (remote start, vehicle tracking, etc).

Thank you Stuart. I have added it to my iMac and Iphone.

My LC 500 Sport + is being delivered next week. How long have you had yours...?

I am looking forward to it...

I got mine in September.

Do yourself a favour once you have the app and are able to add your car - check the service history to see if the fuel pump has been replaced. If not, use the below website to see if the recall applies to your model:

https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk

Mine has just been done after I suddenly had reduced power and the engine warning light show after sudden kangarooing (at low speed thankfully). I mistakenly thought the 2019 model wasn't part of the recall but it seems new models were added to the list this year and my dealer had missed it. The pump can fail at any speed and completely stall the car, which may not start up again. I was lucky that it started ok and after some limping at 30mph it gradually got back to normal enough for me to take it to the dealer.

They are fantastic cars though.

Stuart,

My dealer has ordered my replacement fuel pump and I hope to get it done very soon.Do you know how long the job took. The dealer reckons it is scheduled for 3 hours and involves removing the rear seat.

Looking back, did you experience any warning or change of performance.

Thanks

A J.

Thanks for your reply.

I have bought mine from https://www.urban-automotive.co.uk/  Its still on their website. Its currently at Lexus Milton Keynes, having a new rear wheel under its warranty, because of some 'marks' on the wheel, they are also doing the fuel pump safety recall as well... I haven't yet seen the car, Urban are definately looking after me...

I have rang Lexus Plymouth and they have checked its service history etc. Its next service is due in August 2021. I will be buying an extended warranty before it's 3 years old, which is 30th Jan 2021.

Urban have been very good to deal with, they are also buying my Taycan 4S. I know its a Lexus Forum, but I have just bought a new Honda e, great little car...!

Yes, I bet they are fantastic cars. I am looking forward to mine coming next week... I am in Cornwall, and don't travel to far from home because of a serious accident I had 9 years ago, and my wife unfortunately has MS...

I have watched so many youtube reviews of the LC 500, that I am itching to get it and drive it...!

I have the VIN No so I will add the car to the app this afternoon...

Hello Stuart,

So when I have the V5 and I can verify the car. Does the app show what fuel is in the car, and does it show journeys you have made...? Thanks

Regarding the fuel pump recall, my car is in the frame for this but no parts are available at the moment so I have to wait for an official recall letter. Take a look here:

https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/about-my-lexus/vehicle-recall/#recall-information

BTW, the Lexus App is pretty basic...

Thanks Malcolm,

Urban cars tell me that Lexus Milton Keynes are currently doing the fuel pump recall on mine...?

Yes, some apps are basic and some are good. The Jaguar and Porsche ones are very good...

Does the Lexus app show journeys...? Thanks

Hi AJ,

I had one previous bout of kangerooing just after starting the car which stopped as soon as I gave it a boot - otherwise no warning (this was a couple of weeks before).

When it properly failed I’d actually just done a good 20 mile run down the motorway, then parked up and stopped the car while I waited to pick someone up, so it was warm and there had been no issues on the trip there.

My dealer said 4 hours - the pumps are inside the petrol tank and they do indeed have to remove the rear seats.

No, it’s very basic currently, but as I said the multimedia upgrade may change things (the car can be connected to WiFi).

I will ring Lexus Plymouth and ask if the CarPlay upgrade improves the Lexus Link...
