IS250 seeing intermittent noise issue.

When cold everything is fine. When it warms up I can hear loud noise and vibration through transmission and steering wheel and body of the car. Does not happen when cold. Can only notice it in low gears when going up hill or moving from stationary. Feels like coming from left side. Almost like a blown up exhaust.

What so you guys think?

Need to get it up on a ramp and have a good look underneath it.
“Up hill and from stationary” points to when it is under load but “only when hot points” to something expanding and being where it shouldn’t be! Bit of a weird one at the moment!

Yeah it is auto gearbox. Almost feels like noise from gear box. But I am hoping it is just noise is  resonating from it.

Did you find what was causing the noise?

I was on holiday down South and I started to hear a really annoying tinny vibration noise which reverberated through the transmission tunnel at various scenarios and loads. Took it into a fast fit place in Plymouth to have a look underneath and it turned out to be the clamps holding the exhaust heat shield had rusted away causing the shield to vibrate and cause the noise.

4 new 2 inch worm drive clips sorted the problem.

This reminded me that I had something similar - my local Indy got my IS250 up on the ramp and found that an exhaust hanger (I don't know if this is the right term) had broken. New one fitted, back to silence again.
