Hi all looking at buying a phase iv 2012 I've been looking at one 102,000 miles on it.

looks very clean have seen more pictures full service history from lexus coventry including all mot checks, 100 k service was done at 95k and a further service was done at 101,000.

Have the car being inspected tomorrow won't be able to go in person as I plan to import into Ireland is there anything I should look out for with these cars and will lexus Ireland continue on the hybrid health checks which are all up to date last one being in June.

Cheers all looking forward to getting into a lexus if all checks out.

Not aware of any common issues with the GS series IV. Possibly still too early for anything like that to be discovered. Worth asking the inspector to listen out for any timing chain noise in case it has stretched beyond the tensioner's limit and is a bit loose.

I don't see why the hybrid health check Battery warranty wouldn't be allowed on your vehicle but it is definitely a question for Lexus IE.

I'm not sure who underwrites the HHC warranty, if it is Lexus Europe or TMC then the existing HHC warranty may remain valid for the rest of its term even though it is in a different country - otherwise if Lexus GB have that risk then Lexus IE may request that you get a new HHC carried out once you receive the vehicle as they won't be able to claim on Lexus GB.

Hi thanks for the reply I will ask him to have a look hoping all goes well and I can proceed with the purchase,

Another few questions I've thought of this will be my first car with leather going through the forums there is a huge amount of suggested cleaners wondering what your recommendation would be? its the cream interior.

Final question is does the gold member offer any discounts in Ireland from any lexus dealers?

Cheers

Nice 🙂

Regarding the leather, I'd try some cleaner and conditioner to see how well it brings it up - something like this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dodo-Juice-Supernatural-Conditioner-Complete/dp/B00DXLI14U/ref=bmx_5/259-9495038-1115123?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00DXLI14U&pd_rd_r=131e13f1-4479-4b8d-ac54-5a412416f749&pd_rd_w=7Xaqw&pd_rd_wg=gsnUE&pf_rd_p=26d9b5cc-9c88-4655-88a4-db5806d5daad&pf_rd_r=RJGJBP5HW78P5M59K8E2&psc=1&refRID=RJGJBP5HW78P5M59K8E2

but it looks like some of the colouring has been worn away so it will never come back like new. You may have to take it to a specialist who can fill any hole and respray just that area but colour match it correctly.

Hi thanks for reply I've seen the dodo stuff recommended a few times so I will have to pick it up.

As for the cracking I'm planning on enquiring with some local specialist to get a rough quote for a repair.

I've had cracking like that on a few cars. A good clean then a good leather conditioner and the majority of the cracks will hardly be noticeable. Enjoy your new car. They are rather a superb motor.

Hi vlad that's great to hear I've ordered the dodo cleaner and conditioner.

I'll give it a good it a good clean when I get it and will post up some photos of how to turns out.

Just be careful with the cleaner and how you do it. Gentle strokes so as to lift the dirt and not rub it into the leather more.

Hi all thought I should update as I have now received my car after an issue with shipping on my end.

Very happy with the car needs a wash as to be expected after shipping over to Ireland will take some new pictures after so the ones below are from the dealership but I have to say they do not do the car justice absolutely stunning in person.

Incase anyone is wondering it is crimson red exterior with a light grey interior.

Hi all thanks love the colour more of a wine then red in person gave it a good scrub today and came up very nice. Picture looks like I've some kind of filter on but just how my phone took it.

As yous can see from the other pictures given the age and the millage there is some stone chips on the front I'd imagine the car has had a motorway life before me so looking for suggestions for touch up more than happy to attempt myself have read about Dr chip repair and chipex wondering if anyone has experience with either thanks all.
