Different in a good way or bad way?

in a bad way,its noisy, harsh ride, hard seats, you can feel each gear change

and features i have become used to having like rear camera lumber support ,

decent audio , the heated seats are good and i like the illuminated cup holders

but thats the end of the positives

Interesting you mention the gear change. My 400h is soooo smooth with the CVT box. The RX 300 is not jerky but not as smooth as the 400h. Just my view. The steering on the 400h is much heavier.

yeah all of the lexus cars i have had since 2013 have been so smooth & quiet

1 x CT

2 x IS300h

1 x Gs300h

i was expecting something better from Audi

well to be fair you don't feel gear changes in the vehicles above because they only have a single gear 😉

Noisy - that's diesels for you. Harsh ride - that's German cars for you 😉

£6500 to repair? Ouch!

How is the Audi on motorway, should be more stable than GS, this is the only thing that annoys me in me GS - floatiness and how it is affected by the wind on motorway! I think any other car is better than GS.

I remembered last night that when my IS250 was nerfed off the road by an HGV, I was given a Nissan Micra as a courtesy car. Looking back, I was probably hard done by.

Similar here, whilst deciding what to do with my Celsior they sent me a VW Polo!

Rang them up and told them to come and collect it, bought a GS300 as  temporary car which I later sold for the same price to the guy who repaired the Celsior. Bonus was 3rd party insurer gave me an extra £500.00 cash payment for not having the loan car.

An Update

Excellent news! I'll bet you're chuffed :-) I remember how happy I was to get back into my IS after having that Micra for a few weeks. Mind you,I think most people would be happy to get out of a Micra....

Was the car really repaired for 6.5K or was that just an initial guesstimate?

My RX450h, was rear ended by Audi A3. It needed a new rear hatch and rear bumper,  part exhaust, various brackets, seals, badge, chrome fitment, a few bits of trim, and a few sundry parts. It was just an unbolting of damaged parts and replaceing with new plus paint. (no panel beating involved).

Here is the cost presented to the other driver's insurance company:-

Labour               £2089.40

Parts                  £4834.87

Paint Materials   £1137.41

Additional Items  £249.50

VAT                     £1662.2

Total cost inc VAT£9973.42

Repaired at Snows Repair Centre Southampton.

the final parts bill for the accident came in @ £7000 + Vat so £8400 inc vat this included the following parts :-

r/n/s quarter panel, both passenger doors, rear bumper and passenger door mirror + painting,

on top of that the front bumper had suffered damage at the bodyshop and had to be fixed but due to the

radar being disconnected to repair the bumper the car had to go to lexus for the radar to be recalibrated

then there was an issue with the audio amp as i had no sound the diagnostics came back with a short so

back to lexus and they discovered a bent pin in a multi plug,

the car hire was £80 per day x 59 days so another large bill to be paid.

but at least its all over now and i'm back in the car

happy days

Mark, Do not forget to charge the other insured`s insurer for the increase in your insurance for the next 5 years !

It will possibly be a considerable sum.

i've spoken to aviva and they've told me as long as i stay with them

my premium wont be affected at renewal it would be as if it didnt happen

due tot he fact that the 3rd party is paying all costs

they did say if i changed insurer it may be looked on differently

I am doing my best to help you Mark. It is often overlooked when calculating the cost of an incident. Get your claim in smartish or get it in writing from them and get them to define in writing, what they mean by premium ie. before or after application of no claims bonus.

Brilliant James, I am still laughing !

I'm sorry John, I have previous for this kind of thing. Some years ago I was in Tescos and some youngster had become detached from their parents. A small commotion ensued and suddenly the mother shouted out (to her husband presumably) "he's behind you". I could not help myself. My current wife cowered behind a display of baked beans as I shouted out "oh no he isn't!". I don't think I'll ever grow up.

Wonderful James. We need more light hearted fun on the Forum.

We might have been joint milk monitors in Primary School, if we`d have been born in the same year.

I never knew that humour existed South of the Mersey for years and I thought that all of the Spies came from Cambridge !  :):)
