Hello all, newbie here (although I have owned an 02 imported sc430 many years ago)

I’m looking for a facelift model, preferably late ‘05 or early ‘06, before the RFL tax hike kicks in (23 March ‘06?), and was hoping you may be able to help?

Preferred spec:-

White/cream leather (dealbreaker)

Maple wood interior (ideally)

Full Lexus SH (ideally)

Recent cambelt & water pump change (ideally)

Levinson (ideally - or were these standard anyway?)

North of England location (ideally, but happy to travel for the right car)

Not an import

any help/thoughts greatly received & appreciated

I look forward to meeting you all

regards, Paul

I’m an Ilkley lad, born and bred, nice to meet a fellow local

I learnt many years ago Paul, never believe what you read or what you think is implied in what you are reading. Always consider what is not being said too !

I am from Wirral and might be considered a "posh scouser"

My great friend Terry lived in Menston when we met 44 years ago and he took me to play on his local golf course (not Bradford). Twas Ilkley I think and I thought I was being trained to be come a Sherpa !

Welcome Paul, as John has advised, Richard Walker is a good source for a decent SC430. I think he's just acquired another nice one but I think it's the earlier model.

I would offer you mine at a bargain price but it's the 2006 higher tax model and it doesn't have the ML hifi any more. There are different versions of it but yes all SC430s came with the ML audio as standard.

Thanks Neil, I’m struggling to rationalise spending money on a 3rd car that I’ll probably use no more than 30 times a year, so paying the extra £250pa in road tax is a step too far, particularly as I intend keeping her forever

re the ML - what are the different versions?

regards, PK

Paul, just read above.

One`s ticket on life`s journey was marked "single", so £20 per month can easily be wasted on less pleasurable things than an SC430.

Just saying, old pal !

entirely agree, but I can’t get past the fact that it’ll be 350 for insurance + 150 servicing + 330 rfl = 830 already pa for a car that’ll be used about 30x pa max....the extra 250pa to the dvla is a step too far (not in terms of money, but principle...it sticks too much in the throat of a Yorkshireman to cough up an extra £2500 over 10y for the privilege of using the road 30x pa)

it ain’t the money, it’s the unnecessary additional cost that bugs me

I already cough up tens of thousands to the govt in income tax & vat & corporation tax & additional stamp duty - I’m damned if I’m giving the barstewards any more unnecessarily

enjoy the weekend

Hi my road tax is £570 for a year as its a 2007 model, so I only use it 6 months of the year (garage queen) as it drops to £330. I have two other cars that keep me poor as well. But certain facelift models can be purchased with the cheaper road tax, 2005 models.

But when the sun is out and the top is down that's when owning a SC430 is well worth it 🤙

aye, smashing, grand, magic our Morris

I’m guessing these are only on this list if the LOC members have been happy with the garage?

Yes Paul. The individual Members repot in and I make a note.
Glyn Jones of Heswall has been mentioned to you by a Member on Lexus World. He is close to me but not used him as I took out a 10-year Service Plan 6 years ago for my GS 450h.
Keep looking (and I`ll be watching )
See the REDS WENT TO SLEEP LAST NIGHT ¬
