Hi Guys...

My car has started making a juddering / knocking sound are low speed driving  (10-15mph)..

It won’t make the noise if it’s running on Battery power only makes it when on engine power & when I come off the accelerator.

If I drive very slow uphill it will start juddering but once it gets to around 16/17 mph the sound is gone...

Has anyone else experienced this on their CT200.

Cheers.

Clogged EGR valve possibly. The CT200h is pretty reliable but this is one of the more common issues that can cause a bit of hesitation.

Hmm ok cheers mate

I’ll get it looked at sounds scary at times as if the engine is knocking

But engine is fine regularly serviced etc

I had this once in the winter of 2017 and it’s never done it since. I use fuel injector cleaner every other fuel fill and the system is very clean now. Sometimes you’ve got to drive them hard as they’ll get coked up quickly.

I have now the same issue, ct200h 2011

Car rattling while idle or low speed when the engine kicks on ,

works perfect when only the Battery drives car

thought is the spark coils, found that 1 was faulty, but even after replacement its still rattling

went to lexus centre, they didn’t yet diagnose, but they think is the EGR, doesn’t quite make sense to me though, the rattling noise is far worse than just a clogged egr

waiting on the lexus centre to tell the issue, but would want to see if anyone else had this kind of issue and how the solved it

I’ve done a diagnostic at home and all came clean so it is deff something mechanical

Somebody come with a link to fuel injector cleaning? Something to put in the fuel?

If that could be the remedy.

I do not know.

The biggest issue with owning a car like this is that we all drive pretty steady as it sounds terrible when you don't,,, the downside is the engine never really gets the revs up and this can cause things to get gunked/coked up. It does not hurt to give it a bit of an Italian tune up every now and then (Thrash it a bit)

Mileage @Yuri22?

113,000 Miles,

Btw, I took the EGR yesterday and cleaned it , all fine now

Lexus Centre couldn't identify the issue unless they see a fault code on their diagnose, so I took the car home and put a piece of metal between the EGR and the engine, saw that the noise disappeared so I took the whole EGR out and cleaned it, Halfords even has a special spray to clean the EGR however an WD-40 will do its job too

Put it all back and now all works fine
