Throttle Body Cleaning Question

Last time I had the throttle body cleaned was about 35,000 miles ago.

Only drive the car about every ten days at the moment, but get low idle revs (about 400rpm with a bit of hunting up and down) from time to time, wondering if the throttle just needs another clean, any thoughts.

Pretty certain its not a ECU capacitor problem, as had that on previous LS, and that was low-idle/stalling after long runs.

Distance each time? may be sooting up if short distances.

Check for any splits/cracks in the vacuum hoses. May be worth cleaning the MAF sensor before doing the throttle body.

MAF's on early Cars are not cleanable, from what I've read.

Good points chaps,  I assume as it is Mk4, MAF sensor can be cleaned.

Yep, the earlier models up to October 1994 used a Karman Vortex AFM which uses optical measurement of air flow and cannot be cleaned. The later models use the Hot Wire AFM which can be cleaned with care.
