Nav initial screen

When i switch on the car, on the map screen the menu button has displayed it option. How do i get the map to display  and not the menu button options on start up.

..... it's all part of the CT200 owner experience.  I have never known a car with such an incomprehensible system.  It took me nearly an hour to turn up the bass the other day!.. Still a great car though!

You should try the Range Rover experience Steve.......and be stuck in a lay-by for 7 hours !

It's funny you should say that but my previous vehicles were "nearly new" Discoveries.  I do about 30k miles per year and I have to admit that they were so unreliable it was ridiculous.  And the depreciation of £1k per month was no fun either! 

Each one of them was a £40k car and each one of them went no more than 5 weeks between breakdowns!.... Limp mode on the M6 is no fun!

I and many others Steve are so glad that you have found the Light!

One day Range Rover and its sister vehicles will no longer exist, such is their record of unreliability.

I previously had a Jaguar XF. Lovely looking car with a great engine but would never buy another Jaguar. Always something wrong with it. And when looking on the internet it was always a 'known issue'. They just haven't produced the numbers to allow them to develop and improve. And I don't think they have the money for sufficient R&D. Such a shame as they are fantastic to look at.

In our family we have had 8 German and 9 Japanese cars over the last 50 years.

Every German car has developed faults and cost money to fix. Not a single Japanese car has gone wrong or even needed a bulb !

Says it all really.

I was put off Toyota's after my wife's RAV4 T180 with the notorious Bridgestone Support Rings plus wireless Tire Pressure sensors. Then it developed a Timing Chain issue. But I think we bought a dog if an ex-lease car that hadn't been looked after so we had to get shot to webuyanycar sharpish. Yet still to this day my wife pines for that car.

Loving my Lexus though. I've also had a few German cars (three BMWs and an Audi) and plan to stick with Lexus now if I can.

My wife's timing chain in her BMW skipped a tooth due to guides breaking up and cost us over £3k for a full engine rebuild. It had about 40k on the clock at the time. The specialists that did the work had completed over 1000 rebuilds on BMWs, Minis and Range Rivers fitted with BMW engines. That was three years ago.

Hi, my screen gives an option box of "show map" upon starting up, just click. I just leave it however to finish the start up procedure and just click the back button at the top to show the map when ready to drive off.

The joy of the Lexus system. 😁

Hi, I have a late 2016 CT. If I press the Home button in front of the joy stick the screen shows 3 options, select the Navigation map and you are away!

If I understand you correctly and it is like my GS, you can't stop the menu from coming up if no destination has been set on start up. I just avoid having the menu screen on at all to avoid the issue 😉
