Got my IS today, loving it. Forget what the reviews say about the sat nav and media, its fine, its not idrive but infinitely better than I expected having read the reviews, standard speakers are pretty good too, certainly a match for the premium system I had in my bmw. Very happy owner :)

Hi James and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. Glad you love your is300h. Ive had 2 both Premier and identical in colour and spec but both like chalk and cheese. Hated my 1st one but thats because all my previous cars were manual gearboxes. 2nd one I loved to bits. They're a fabulous car and only got rid for a RX450h (needed the space). I can't comment on the sound system as each of my 4 lexus's have had/got mark levinson  systems. I agree about the nav and media system. Its easy to use and the reviews got it all wrong.

Unfortunately all car reviews (and reviews in general) make the same, fundamental, mistake. They present the OPINIONS of the reviewer on things such as ride quality, how easy navigation systems are etc. as FACTS. List price is a fact. 0-60 acceleration is a fact. How intuitive a navigation system is to use is an opinion.

This is simple stuff - journalism 101 - and it is the most basic of mistakes. Editorial quality has declined markedly over the past twenty years or so.

Glad you're enjoying the car. It's always better to make up your own mind. Unfortunately too many people hold an opinion because they believe it to be correct, or want it to be correct, or believe it to be the 'right' one for them to hold...rather than because it IS correct or it is what they actually think or would like to think. The modern world is doomed.
