GS 300 Cat

I've been getting the P0430 code up recently on my 2007 GS 300, which my garage says is an exhaust leak code. After inspection there is no leak so they think the cat is on its way out and have advised to ignore it in the short-/medium-term (due to the cost of replacement against the value of the car) and clear the code when it comes up.

That's fine but what about at resale point? There are plenty of GS 300s around and an intermittent engine check light will put people off.

I was wondering if there are any tricks that can fool the ECU.
