Fuel ejecting out of centre exhaust

Okay let's start... A few days ago I had to buy another 1gfe engine to replace my blown one previously... The engine I bought is on 89k so pretty good i thought.

After installing the new engine I was told to replace the timing belt as it had begun to show signs of tearing... I replaced it and aligned everything properly. My freind who is a mechanic also checked it over and said it was spot on.... I went to start the engine  after I'd finished installing new service parts however, upon starting I noticed a strong smell of petrol coming from my engine. I checked the engine and could not see anything untill I noticed a large puddle heading towards me.

Somehow excess fuel is making its way into my exhaust manifold and pushing it along the exhaust and out through the centre pipe.... Which is disconnected at the moment due to being damaged.

Does anyone know what could cause this.... I have just changed my fuel injectors.

I have also taken my exhaust manifold off to check which side the fuel is being pushed from and I've noticed its on the first 3 cylinders if you look from the front of the engine.... I unplugged the injectors on said 3 cylinders and the car seemed to pick up on sound after unplugging them. So could those 3 injectors be causing all my issues or is it something else.... I've never seen this before any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Very unlikely the injectors are responsible for so much unburnt fuel through the exhaust pipe. It would have ignited and the exhaust pipe would push flames through.

Extreamly rich fuel mixture would result in a very rough idling and cause the engine to stall.

Look for a fuel leak.

Engine seems to be running fine no fuel leaks anywhere just 3 injectors not working at all.... I have replaced them but I'm still having the same problem.. Everyone is telling me its ecu as I have posted on Facebook also but you know what that community is like... Was wondering if anything else could be causing this... Bad sensor maybe

Get a good scanner, preferably Techstream, set up and read any  codes displayed.

If the engine is running fine, then the injectors are working. If only one injector is not working, the engine is shaking.
