The trim above the window chrome strips seems to be coming away in a few places. it almost looks like a protective strip that should be removed to show chrome underneath?

If it has a purpose what suggestions to stick it back,P1080993.thumb.JPG.06ecdeb46360a1913e8ee5a5899decea.JPGP1080992.thumb.JPG.996f08817ae7a3117564a5254b928531.JPG

Very common problem as the car ages. I peeled mine back and cut it and wrapped mine with black gloss vinyl. Basically dechromming all the chrome. I've seen some just cut it and leave the chrome as chrome

Agreed... I trimmed mine back to chrome must be two years ago now.

I could not see any reason not to.... and I thought it would probably reoccur if I glued it due to hot, cold, wet etc.

The chrome beneath has proved to be durable.

Does it not act as part of the drainage for rain from the window glass? How far back did you cut?

Yes I assumed that its function is to help keep the wet out.

I used a steel rule and a a craft knife to about 3 or 4mm.

I have not noticed any water at the base of the doors....
