I bought my 2014 GS300 h in Dec 2018 and in June 2019 the aircon was not working. Had it regassed and it has now, having done some further 3000 miles  failed again. My local garage has told me it is unable to repair (2 small punctures in the condenser) as this is strictly a main dealer job. Any thoughts out there (I bought it used, 1 owner) re repair and likely costs please? Tks, Tony

PS it's 2014, not 2016.

Tony your local garage are probably only referring you to the dealer as Lexus parts are often difficult to source and often cannot be supplied by local auto factors.

If I were you then I would check the RockAuto site for your model/year, obtain the part number and then see what parts you can find online.  Orders from RA often come through surprisingly quick and often are cheaper that parts supplied locally.

Changing out the condensor is not a tricky job but regas'g will need specialist kit that most garages have these days.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

And there are several air-con specialists in your area who will be able to help at a fraction of Lexus prices Tony.

What pressure runs in them? Surely a way to plug 2 leaks? Especially if in block work rather than any fancy joints or such....

Seems we all throw away too much these days, economics, speed, some are worthy I guess.
