Pneumatic Suspension

Having a great problem finding a front suspension top mount for the rx300. Offside front on mine (2004 model) has a rattle until driven a few miles and can be levered about 6mm up and down. Mechanic is sure it's the top mount and I see there may be a bearing/damper at the top of the strut. Anyone any suggestions?

Somewhere in this forum is a topic on this very subject, but I can't remember who started it or when it was. I know that he found an engineering company somewhere down south who would get the old one off and fit a new top mount if you send them the strut.

The search function on this board isn't the best but unless someone else can point you to the topic in question, you may have to give it a go.

As usual Lexus only supply the complete air strut.

You don’t need to replace both struts, I know I have 3 good spare air bag struts, not sure which front one I have as I replaced a rusted one last year but cannot remember which.

I am just about to sell my current SEL, so am selling my spares that I have.  May end up breaking it anyway as body is tatty, shame as it’s only done 85k.

Thats great.  I have a strut toip coming and if thaty doesnet work will contact you.

 

Its oil stem seals which I thing are the next problem!!! Additive first then see what happens
