12v 'Engine on' Live Feed?

Hi all,

I need a 12v feed which is only live with the engine is on.

Any pointers please before I go out there and test each and every fuse under the bonnet....?

If you take off the lid of the fusebox it'll have a list of fuses and what they're for, on the inside. Then, Google becomes your friend for wiring diagrams and explanations.

I don't know about your car but in the RXs the cig lighter/power sockets are only live with ignition so look for one of those.

There are plenty of choices for ignition on, but i'm looking for engine on.......I guess ignition2 is the same as not often you would have ignition2 on without the engine...

Are there any that would only work once the engine is started rather than just ignition position 2?

Maybe Ill just use Ignition 2...

The only one I could find for engine started was fuel pump but I decided against that.

The main thing for DRLs is that they must go off as soon as you turn your lights on because they would dazzle other people otherwise. I know that officially it should be engine on but in reality ignition on is OK.

I just tested my wife’s Merc which has stock DRLs and they come on with ignition2 even before the engine is started.

So ignition2 must be compliant, don’t need engine on as such.
