I have lost the second key for NX300h which is a 67 plate. Heard the main dealers charge almost 600-700£ for a replacement smart key.

Can anyone suggest anyone cheaper? I still have the main key.

Most decent key/car locksmith should be able to provide you with a replacement key 👍

£600-£700 doesn't sound right... not sure where you heard this. Have you actually checked with a dealer?

i have seen second hand keyfobs on eBay, probably from cars that have been written off. I wonder whether these could be re-programmed, although the physical key within the fob would not fit your car, obviously. Some of these second hand keys look to be RX keys. Again, I don't know whether an RX key could be re-programmed to work with an NX.

When I bought one of my campers (Fiat Ducato) it came only with one key, Used a Automotive Locksmith recommended by the garage in the village where I live, he came to the house and was nearly £150 cheaper than Fiat. Quoted before he came there must be similar self employed where you live who will come to either where you live or work after we escape "Lockdown"

Srik, don't worry yourself too much over it,you can go online and look up local car locksmiths and I am pretty sure you will find someone to sort it out, even Timpsons offer the service(currently shut due to Corona)
