My IS had developed a fault where the bonnet sometimes pops open at motorway speeds - I've played around with the latch and I think its just worn / weak as if I pull upwards enough on the bonnet the latch just pops open.

Changing the latch looks easy enough, but I cant find the part number to order a new one - can anyone point me in the direction of somewhere I can find the part numbers - would prefer to not ask my nearest dealer as its a bit of a trek and past experience has not been great

I had a similar issue with my lock mechanism on my 300 H,

Took it off the car and completely cleaned it with degreaser, put it back on and it works perfectly.
For the sake of an hour or two I will try that first rather than spending out on apart you may not actually need.

The issue is that if you sat right out on the front of the car and has very little protection so over time it picks up dirt and cried and all manner of gunk which gums up the pivots on the latches.
