Rx400h rear DVD

Hi guys! New to this forum, so please be kind!

 

Ive just bought a 2007 RX400h with the rear headrest screens and DVD player under the seat.

 

the problem is that there seems to be no power going to the DVD player or the screens.

Some context:

* There is nothing in the sub menus from the infotainment that suggests “rear lock” is on. Actually there is no reference to rear lock at all.

* I have tried pressing the power button on the under-seat dvd but nothing from either the DVD player or the screens.

* Nothing happens if I press the power button on the headrest screens.

* screens are branded “lexus” so I assume they are OEM.

* I have the remote but maybe needs a new Battery.

*Oddly, if I load a DVD player into the front centre console slot. I can play a DVD on the front screen.

do I need to check wiring? If so how the heck do I go about doing that?

 

or maybe I need to check fuses, but again how to know which fuses are responsible for the rear dvd/screen set up?

 

any help/tips would be amazing!

Interesting... I have a 2006 rx400h SEL, with rear DVD screens connected to a DVD player under the driver's seat.  Mine doesn't play dvds in the front screen though.   I think that the front system changed in 2007, but don't know if it links in any way to the rear screens.  Don't know if your rear system is different to mine.

I have to say that it does feel complicated getting my rear system started, and I usually defer to the kids when using it.  

I suppose that you have checked that all the plugs under the front seats are connected?

Haha!  Sorry, not checked in for a while - I didn't have a RX then; I do now.
