I have recently put the clutch out of my is200 and the mechanic said he needs the chassis number he also said he needs a code on the bootlid of the car he said it would be something like sr with digits after it any help would be greatly appreciated

Vehicles produced before 2003 are stamped into the bulkhead with a aluminium chassis plate riveted to the bulkhead

Vehicles from 2003 have a chassis number stamped into the bulkhead but the chassis plate is now a white label at the bottom of the B pillar on the passenger side.

The chassis number for the UK IS200 comprise of 17 letters and numbers and start JT..

I think the number may also be visible at the bottom of the windscreen.

No idea about the bootlid code, if there is one that shouldn't be needed - just the VIN.
