Service Booklet

New to the club, just bought my first Lexus from a main agent, it is 5 year old with full Lexus service history,

Lexus say I don't really need a service book, all data stored and recalled anytime the car is plugged in for service.

Any comment on this from the community?

Unfortunately that seems to be the way things are going,there is a my lexus app you can download and register,this will then show you your car service history etc etc,hope this helps 👍

Make sure that you get a fully stamped book. Remind them it is a condition of being an Approved used Lexy. Ask for a print out of the service work on the car. They can do this by cutting off the top of the pages to remove previous owner details. 

I did this and I can tell you that the printout shows a lot more than online or The Lexus Phone app eg new water pump under warranty, Fuel pump replaced at the behest of Lexus UK.

and you will need all the " real " paperwork stuff when and if you come to sell privately as the dealers seem to hide behind GDPR in NOT making any of this available to your new private purchaser !
