yesterday i noticed there is a blue'ish tint across the bottom edge of both of my door mirror glass's

has anyone seen this before.

on the first image i placed a white cloth on the door you can see there is no blue on the cloth

but in the glass you can see the tint

It's because they dim, they contain a photochromic layer. Must admit to not noticing a distinct band before, just a general blue hue across all but the very edges of the mirrors.

i have never noticed the door mirror glasses to dim only the interior rear view mirror

Mine are blue over all of the glass, you shouldn't notice them switching to dim, they work quite subtly. Although I'm not sure if they're fitted to all model levels.

i have emailed lexus in Liverpool for them to have a look at the photos

my cars booked in with them in Feb hopefully to change the microphone

i'm hoping after looking at the mirrors i'll have the mirror glasses changed.

Covering the photocell on the interior mirror will darken it, and the exterior mirrors on vehicles fitted with dimming mirrors.
