Hi,

I have a '07 IS220d that has developed a chronic fuel leak. It only leaks when the engine is running & therefore when fuel is being pumped through the fuel system. The part that is leaking is shown on the attached picture (highlighted) - it's not the hoses, the entire body is leaking and therefore this part needs to be replaced. There's a 2-way electrical connection in addition to the three fuel lines so it seems like some form of solenoid value? The fuel filter can be seen (I think) just below and slightly to the right on the picture.  I'm struggling to find what this is - I had a chat with the local Toyota dealer (parts dept) but they were as good as useless.  So, any help very much appreciated.

Cheers, Scott

Here's a pic of the fuel system:

Is your pic actually the Pressure Discharge Valve?

I’ve just spent 20 minutes on the parts database and cannot find that part!

The only thing I can suggest is to remove the part and see if there is a part number stamped on it, these are normally 5 + 5 digits, if you can provide the number I can look up the part for you.

Thank you John, Steve.

I'll remove the part and report back as it seems to be very unclear what this is.

Hi Scott,

Not an IS220 owner (IS250) but the pic confused me I was trying to reconcile it with views of the engine! Then I realised from looking at the manual that the convoluted rubber thing in the foreground is actually a rear axle joint boot! According to the manual the part with three pipes is the 'Fuel route switching valve' I can't find any reference to it in the 'Parts location' section only the attached reference to removing it. I'll have a further peruse and update if I do find anything.

Hi Andrew,

That's exactly it. Maybe I should have been clearer in my original post but yes, this is located at the rear of the car.  If you're able to find a part number that would be terrific.

Hi Scott,

Just had a look on PartSouq a US parts listing and it appears to be '7772053010 VALVE ASSY, FUEL TANK SOLENOID RETURN':

Another site gives: '77720E 77720-53010 01 11.2005 VALVE ASSY, FUEL TANK SOLENOID RETURN ALE20' with '77720-53010' as the OEM part number.

Hope these help.........

Andrew

I have the same issue. Managed to track one down due to this post. Thank you. I have limited tools with me and don't want to drive further than I have to. What tools do I need to change this bad boy?  Thanks guys

@audimad Apologies for the late reply, but I've only just had a chance to peruse the manual and I can't find out any more than the pic I posted previously in this thread. It's in the manual about removing the fuel tank and it just says remove the three hoses which appear to be the clips that just require careful use of a large pair of pliers. It's quite odd that it isn't even mentioned in the Fuel Flow diagram? I presume it to be the part I've arrowed bottom left......
