So,

Having ruined my Lexus by changing the suspension, I got rid of it, changed it for another LS430, a silver one.

Two things will need to be sorted on the new (to me) Lexus.

1. The doors don't respond to "Touch unlocking"

2. None of the rear shelf speakers work, the rear door speakers work but not the three on the rear shelf. That is really serious in my eyes 😎😃

But, as a car, I'm over the moon with it.

Motored from Leicester down to the Isle of Wight, sticking, for the most part to the speed limit and averaged 33 mpg on the motorways.

I'm happy with that.

Hi Foulsbane,

There is only one speaker on the rear shelf, the sub-woofer. Please see the attached file.

Andy

In that case I suspect that I know what's the matter here, the speaker has blown and someone has disconnected it.

(I hope). If that's the case I've learned a short cut for removing it and know where I can take it to be repaired.

2 things I can suggest for the keyless- first  check the fob batteries and second check it’s switched on - button near drivers knee

I'll check that out thanks Mark.

Doubt it's the key fob, a message comes up on the dashboard if the batteries are low.

I'll look for the button tomorrow.

Cheers.

Thanks for the tip Mark.

A simple press of a button sorted that out.

That's a pre-facelift.  The facelift ones have thinner, straight foglights, yours are rounder. There are other differences but that's the main one.

Oh, and you've only got 5 gears.

Being 👃 nosey, where did you find it, and what's the mileage, and did you px the other one, and will you put a transmission cooler on or just leave it?

Posted

It was advertised on line and I did a swap for my 2004 167.000 mile car

The new one is 2003 95.000 mile car.

Don't know about the transmission cooler, why would I need one ?
