Does your sat nav screen dim when the headlights come on. Mine does not and I cannot find any info in the manual or the internet about any settings for this.

Not immediately when the lights come on but it does have a black background when it gets a bit darker, same as with the IS.

Is yours bright all the time?

Mine is the same, seems to be a light sensor behind the screen or somewhere. Example, a short period of reduced light (under a bridge for example), the headlights come on. A longer period of darkness ie a tunnel, lights on and screen dims with black background.

Different sensors.

The lights use a sensor located behind the rear view mirror.

The instrument panel, including the satnav screen, uses a sensor located at the bottom of the windscreen. It's a round black disk, about the size of a 50p coin, located either in the middle of the air vent at the base of the windscreen or on the very far left on the passenger side.

On the RC the dash top mounted sensor is for the lights. The sensor on the RVM is for auto dimming mirrors. I haven't found the sensor responsible for the sat may screen. On my Mercs that sensor was actually within the screen itself.

Most likely the auto dimming feature is turned off

Will be in the screen menu somewhere where youll also find contrast and brightness settings
