While out and about today my wife noticed the speed camera warning bleep we used to get on our avensis 2012 ,is not on our rx should there be or was it not fitted to this model or is it turned off I've looked through the manual but no joy ,I was wondering if anyone could help ?

Having looked through the owners manual which is about as thick as a bloody Argos caterlodge grrr lol . It talk's about pre crash or a precollision system fitted to stop the wife rear ending another car .ive not tried it out obviously I was going to get some cardboard boxes and try it out in a empty car park.

Depending on the type of system fitted the cardboard boxes thing might not work.

Top gear tried it with a VW last season.  Because the VW camera is looking for the shape of a person it doesn't register a pile of boxes (or apparently someone on a bicycle as the shape is different).

I don't know how the Lexus system handles matters though?

Thanks for the reply I'll try a life like cut of the mother in law ,has anyone got a large whale photo I can stick to some cardboard .

Pre crash/collision warning system isn't for pedestrian use but for vehicle use. I've had it come up on my mondeo a few times.

As for speed camera warning beeps I don't know but useless again what the fuzz are testing. A zoom lens speed camera which can get a car 1 kilometre away.
