Looking to by a Lexus RX400H SE-L 2008 Model

Hi all

 

New member looked at a few Lexus RX400H but unfortunately the some dealers don't seem to worry about bump starting the car even when we warn them. Unfortunately not found the one we want yet.

Prefer one under 90,000 around 60,00 to 70,000 or less. But it depends on the vehicle it's history and how well it's been looked after.

Please let me know if you have one and are looking to upgrade to a newer model, as we have been looking for some time and would be an owner who would cherish it.

Also prefer not to have to travel to far but will travel if it's worth viewing and we're likely to buy it.

As these cars can't be 'bump' started (put into 1st gear, clutch down, someone pushing you to a fast walking or running speed and then clutch up) I'm assuming you meant 'jump' started?

If so, there is absolutely no problem whatsoever in jump starting a hybrid. You should never use a hybrid to give a jump start but as long as you observe the correct polarity then it's perfectly safe to accept a jump start.

Thanks for that. Looked at a couple of SE models but want the SE-L version. Finding prices vary too as to what condition the car is in. But thanks again for your info, yes I meant Jump start. The dealer got me in the car so I could not see how he jump started it, but used a box rather than another car. 

Still looking, not sure if we should pay a little extra and look at RX450h but alot of people suggest there is no point. I also wondered if there is anyway to update the sat nav.

Hi Elizabeth,

If you can afford a 450h even 2009 it is much better than 400h. 

Hope you will find the right one
