Hello, Thank you for allowing me to join your Forum. I recently bought a CT200h, a second hybrid car to my Ioniq, and I am really enthused by the car and how it performs. Has taken me a little time to master the Radio/Sat Nav but I am getting there, to be honest the navigation book is not that easy to follow, but I am sure I will get there.

how does the ioniq compare to the CT, i went to look at an ioniq and the dealership

Hi, The Ioniq despite being a 1.6 is little nippier, especially in sport mode, the Ioniq is returning between 63 and 70 mpg (now covered 3k) I own the premium SE which has every extra, lane assist, tiredness warning, distance control, cruise/limiter, full leather, but there is more refinement in the Lexus, lot less plastic. The ride in the Ioniq is a little harsher than the Lexus, the Lexus not so cramped. The radio/satnav in Ioniq is easier to use, has apple and android play, and a wireless charging system,

My previous car to the Lexus was a C class  220cdi Coupe Sport AMG line Prem+ and the Lexus suits me just fine.

when i had my CT i used to return 63-67 in summer and around 58 in winter

my only recollection of the ioniq is the strong smell of plastic when i 1st sat it the car

i'm glad i stayed with lexus

Silverdel's comments seem to point towards the Korean competitors learning and improving quickly in order to capture more of the market share.

Hi MadJam

My Ioniq is a hybrid self charging, a 2019 model, drove this Saturday 112miles around Cheddar, achieved 73.3 mpg with 4 people in the car. Will see what I get from my Lexus when it comes back from the garage, next week at the earliest.

Hi 200h

I admit there are quite a great deal of plastic in some of the Ioniq range, but as my car is a the Premium SE it smells of leather, with plastic undertones, seriously I don not know what anything smells of, I have no sense of smell, but do remember the test drive was in the base model and was plastic dash and cloth seats.

Wass, I think all makes are getting on board the hybrid/electric systems it would seem it is a natural progression, the asian market is perhaps trend setting.

I'm Currently getting 55mph in my 1 year old CT with just under 9000 on the clock. Prettu much always drive in Normal unless need to pull away quick at a junction. What am I doing wrong?

Driving is a mixture of motorway (most of which is using adaptive Cruise at the mo due to 50 speed limit) and town driving

Hi Mark

I use the eco mode when on the motorway but not when your going up hill so I use the modes depending on conditions. Today I did a motorway trip of 280 miles in total and got 63mpg on average with a mix of 50 miles an hour sections etc. Most of the time I get around 55 and of course you get  abit more in the summer months due the warmer Battery so your 55 isn't bad

Hello Derek and welcome to the LOC.

All I can add to the other posts is that I get 18-22 MPG on 95 octane fossil fuel 😁
