What did you do to your Lexus today.

Ordered some flexable filler for the next stage ,but one. Steaming comes first. Now looking at the recolorant and wondering is Black just Black from anybodys' range, or do I need to go a step further in trying to match the Lexus Black ?

If this was virtually any colour ,but Black, I would not even have to ask that question.

Anybody recoloured the SC 430 Black leather seats and got a done that view on using  a recolorant then please step forward now.

Charged my RX and saw that the EV range had increased to 54 miles, for the first time, and went woo-hoo !! 🙃

B....cks !. Now I just have to go and do more with it. There is just enough improvement to think I could get it just right if I spend more time on it.

One more hour of steaming the passenger seat brought no further improvement so I will move along to the next stage involving flexible filler and 1200 grade wet and dry sanding paper. Not today, but I will post pics up when the opportunity arises.

Just run in the.  I woud love to experience a nice low mileage model for old times sake.  Last time I did was a Mk1 in 1994 with less than 10K on the clock.  Bliss

Hahaha not even run-in at 101k 😂🤣

I bought a 94 Mk2 with 6k miles in about 2007 but sadly written-off by vandalism at 45k some 4 years later ….. then M470HWO ? 

a LS400 is really an everlasting brilliant car …….. I’m surprised you haven’t got another 🤔

I know it is tempting fate saying this but the IsF has just turned 62000 miles this week and is running better than ever - even faster too! I am sure it tried to pop a wheelie from the lights this morning ( in auto - not even sport or kickdown or traction off mode ). BTW it only gets this treatment once in a blue moon just to clear any carbon from the engine.😉

Hit 170,000 miles on my 2006 LS430 today, although I missed the exact figure by 10 miles... 

Also I didn't realise how bad the dash cluster is scratched... any tips for cleaning it up?

Not so much to my RX but for it... Evicted a very large bumble bee that flew in as I opened the door! It didn't want to leave, can't blame it really 🤣

Furniture polish (Pledge, etc.). Make sure it is safe for plastics first though, but most of them are.

I've heard good things about Meguiars Plast-X and things like motorbike visors, so would work pretty well there I'd expect.

Assuming the ISF has air suspension, try putting it in full-floppy with the engine and gearbox in max-attack, then get on and off the throttle in a tunnel in 2nd. It's hilarious just how high the nose will go.

I definitely didn't do that in the Dartford tunnel in my LS460 the other week, it's all lies if anyone claims otherwise.

Today was a Big day.

I finally got my Golden Goddess back with a smorgasbord of work now completed. So no more leaks, no brake squeal, no more engine management light and she rides as though driven straight out of the showroom, what a difference! 

(Work completed: replaced front brake pads, discs & shims, new valve cover gasket, tappet cover gasket, steering pressure hose, 8 front arm bushes, one broken bush fitting bolt, transmission & engine mountings. Wheel balancing & alignment done, brake wear sensors replaced. Oxygen sensors cleaned and engine bay steam cleaned and the rear door lock repaired. Phew!)

Then I went with my son to get some plates for the LS400 (also gold) he just purchased yesterday and he stopped at yet another 400 sitting in the corner of the Government lot, then he pressed what I thought was the key to mine and he opened the white 400! I panic when he gets in it, saying "you cant do that son,  its not yours, theres a policeman on a motorcycle over there" and he laughs and told me he just bought that one as well! So he's now got two Platinum Series, one white 300K miles, one gold (160k???). He is going to use one for long commutes and the other to rent out for new joiners at his work to use. I was flabbergasted and delighted at the same time. Very happy.
