Not surprising really, the CT will be 10 years old by then. The new Corolla would make a good platform to base the CT replacement on and the 2.0 litre Hybrid setup would sit nicely alongside an all electric option. The 1.8 in the CT has always felt a bit underpowered to me, although it cruises quite nicely once up to speed.

It will be based on the TNGA platform, so will be essentially the same as the current Prius, Corolla, new Auris, C-HR, and Lexus UX - a big improvement of the old Auris platform that the CT currently uses.

When I mentioned this to Lexus the other week they said they'd not heard of anything about a CT replacement in the UK.

no, they wouldnt have heard anything because they need to achieve this months sales figures. Start telling people that a new model is coming soon and they stop buying the old model and profit margins fly out of the window.
