Rear Spring LH and RH 48231-50210

Rear Shock Absorber LH and RH 48530-80141

Springs around $130.00 Shocks $250.00.

Parts based on 2004 Toyota Celsior UCF30-AETGK model.

You would also need the rubber strut mounts/insulators etc adding around another $200.00.

Well clearly I'm being concerned about nothing at this stage. I had the car checked today, bushes, ball joints and suspension, and I'm told all is fine, no sign of impending doom!  So for now I'll keep my gob shut and just get on with enjoying a fine car. Maybe its time to stop being swayed by the negative comments we read.

I know, and after all these years that I've been a member of the LOC it's time for me to listen to my own advice! Especially as I was being driven in a Mercedes today, nowhere near as comfortable!

After 13 years of ownership with my 1994 Celsior the only suspension problems I have ever had were 2 lower front ball joints, one upper front control arm and a rear spring and I put all these down to the state of the UK roads!

hi all, '04 430 108k is on the ground at the rear.. have had trouble for a while since rear drivers side sensor bracket broke last year. Driven for 15 miles, and then fixed sensor and setup, all OK, except rear passenger sinks when car turned off, used to take a day to go down, now 5 minutes. My conclusion is that if driven with suspension down for any reason, it damages the membrane, leading to small leaking, that eventually gets larger. So, anyways, going for cheap coil replacements on rear.

also, is the front air connected to the rear ?

i see threads for removing rear seat when changing rear coils, and about keeping rear sensors for headlight level, etc, and removing fuse for pump, but is this only the rear ?

any help appreciated.

You need to keep the whole setup as air or replace the 4 with springs, you can't have half and half, it just won't work. If you've got one leaking buy a used one for about £175. I did that when I bought mine and I was charged £75 for fitting, and that included removing the rear seat.

I agree completely.

You can spend hours reading about this on the the USA club forum but will come to the same conclusion.

My Ls430 2002 has the same problem, suspension going down on passenger side. Has got progressively worse, but come up to normal when I turn on ignition and the compressor kicks in.

I see from above this was repaired for £175 and £75 fitting, I see the cost oF a new shock is about a grand. So was interested to know what you had replaced.

I had to have my wheel bearing on this wheel replaced recently, the garage said it wasn't related, but I'm not sure he is correct
