Rear bumper protector cost!

Hello all. I bought a very nice 2009 RX450 recently. It's in mint condition (apart from dodgy radio reception-see previous post) and I thought I'd buy a rear bumper protector. As it's a silver car I thought a stainless steel one would look better than a rubber one.

My local dealer quoted me (wait for it) £419.72. Lexuspartsdirect are even pricier at £428.12! Outrageous prices for a bit of stainless steel no?

There's a protector on Lexus eBay at £118.44 but I think this is for the facelifted 450 (it has a curved lip) which won't fit my car.

Any suggestions before I have another look at the rubber version (£67.81 from my local dealer)?

EDIT: Doh, just realised you've already been there!

Personally I'd go for the rubber one anyway as stainless steel can still be scratched.

Yeah, already looked and the one that fits my car is £503.76! Seriously, how can this be a fair price? I've zoomed in on the pic and can't see any diamonds!

My car has the rubber one and I think it's a more practical option. If I had the stainless versiwid be constantly fretting.

How about the clear film type? Plenty on amazon for ~£15 per metre

I had a rubber one on a black 400 I previously owned and it looked fine. It's just that my 450 is silver so I thought s/steel might look better.

I had a black one on my silver RX400 and now have a black one on my white RX450 both looked / look  fine to me. In the intrim I had a Stainless effect one on my ML350 that got seriously scratched. You're choice I guess.
