Hi guys,

Following an operation I'm gonna be unable to drive for 8-10 weeks. Any suggestions as to how often the RX will need to be taken for a run and what kinda distance we're talking about?  I'm thinking about brakes seizing and batteries here......

Many thanks, as usual.

The only Battery to be concerned about for that period is the 12 volt Battery. The ideal situation would be to keep the Battery on a trickle charger even if this means removing the Battery, and taking it indoors "no garage".
Leave the parking brake off to stop the shoes sticking to the drums, and all should be well. There is no need to drive the car. If you wish starting the car, and leave running for 15 to 20 minutes would take care of both batteries, but the HV Battery will be happy for at leased 12 months untouched.

You could get a small, cheap solar panel to keep the 12v Battery topped up, that assumes you are not parked where it may get nicked..

I leave my cars parked up for months on end. Just remove the negative on the Battery. 2-3 months shouldn't even require a recharge when starting up again (given the Battery is in good condition).

On the other hand, leaving the HV Battery without a run for 3 months might be another thing. 12 months, as suggested in an earlier post, looks too long to me.

My advice is to have it run once in the middle of this break, even if it's only run stationary to charge the HV.

Best wishes with the op.
