Yes, I was thinking that... there are often 'spoof' adverts on ebay  for high end items that are objects of desire (the LS clearly fits that category ) that are basically fraudsters hoping you are so desperate to have the item at the 'bargain' price that you will send them payment/deposit in advance etc etc. I'm not saying that's the case here, just that I have seen it before when I was looking for an RX400h on eBay. The pictures and often the sellers ID get lifted from another genuine ad.

Yes, I've almost been fooled by that before.  Looks a real bargain if it's genuine though!

yes that's a good price

I also notice on Auto Trader , a 200k miles LS600 has been reduced to £4995 - incredible value for money albeit it will need some suspension work at those miles

it's probably at bottom trade price now ...................  2.5 years ago I paid £4k for a 106k mile Honda legend with Full Honda service history ......  when these Ls460 cars were at about £8k, so 3 years on maybe £4995 ain't too awry

I would think this is the ball park price, makes swapping my 400 tempting, but gotta get the roof sorted on house, so no new motors for me just yet

The only thing I have against it, and I know I've gone on about this before, its lost what I call the classic limo shape that attracted me to Lexus in the first place. It still looks like a bargain to me, especially as it has "make an offer" If it wasn't miles away I'd have taken a look, just out of curiosity.......

Here is a very good example of what I can only assume is a scam ad on eBay... this car is thousands of pounds less than it should be

It's a classified ad with a price of £4,885 for a 2009 RX400h with only 58,000 miles... a dealer would be asking between £10-12k for this car.

Just seen it, if its not a scam it's a bargain!

The LS looks to be about right. There are a couple on there for under 5k and the one on this auction was on autotrader last week for £4,700

I guess I'm out of touch!

Scam confirmed... here is the same car for sale with a private seller on Autotrader for £10,500. I imagine this seller has no idea about his photos having been used in the eBay scam ad.

and the eBay ad

Yes, a scam indeed.

However, I would hope that no one would ever even consider buying a car or spending so much money on any item with an eBay member who has zero feedback.

I know that everyone who joins the Bay of Fleas starts off with a feedback score of zero and so I would take a punt up to about £30, maybe even £50 if I really wanted what they were selling, but when talking in the hundreds or thousands of my hard-earned Great British Pounds, nothing would make me do it.

Completely agree with all of that

I'm having trouble seeing what the actual scam is.

You want the bargain so badly, you are willing to pay a deposit via paypal  to secure it...sight unseen.

Well done for spotting this one, don't you just hate the way a minority spoil it for everyone!
