Ok so I did the classic silly one today of starting the engine with the wipers in auto and a dollop of snow on the 'screen  - the end result being the near side wiper arm is not moving although the drivers side one is. I am assuming it is one motor driving the pair of them and the nearside linkage has failed. Can anyone comment on the procedure to get in to the linkage area and have a look. I've not had chance to even lift the bonnet this morning (work and all that) so it is a job for this evening. Thanks in advance

Just to follow up - the problem turned out to be due to a loosening of one of the nuts holding the passenger side wiper arm in place (the offside one) presumably that also provides drive to the arm. An easy fix without disturbing any of the trim... result!
