Hi, does anyone know of an Independent Lexus workshop / service mechanic in the general area of Preston, Lancashire or within 30 mile or so?

Grinspeed are nearby in Leyland and altho they aren't a dedicated Lexus indi they mainly deal with JAP cars. They are x motorsport chaps, do a great job and will not fleece you [emoji106] Definitely worth a call [emoji6]

Again, not Lexus specialists but two garages I've used in the past and can highly recommend in respect of their knowledge, workmanship and reasonable pricing are:

Ribble View Garage (John Barton)
2A Rough Hey Rd (opposite the crematorium)
PR2 5AR

and also

Malcolm Alty
Alty's of Preston
Great George Street (off North Rd)

By the way, apparently we're getting our own Lexus main dealership here in Preston next month, being opened by Vantage Group (Toyota main dealers near the docks).

Hi Herbert,  thanks very much for your info. I know of Altys but not Ribble View, but I'll check them out. I need the rear shocks changing on a GS450h.....would you happen to know if either have previuosly worked on a 450h.

Good news about a new dealership on the docks, it'll save the journey to Bolton. Thanks again.

No, sorry Paul, no idea, but both garages/mechanics are good guys and I would trust them implicitly with my RX450h unless it was something that only Lexus could do (such as the hybrid system).

Your rear dampers are nothing soooo special that only a dealer needs to work on.

My local dealer wanted me to pay for new dampers but they are completely fine with none of the claimed oil leaks. So get a second opinion.
