Good morning,

we recently purchased 2007 Rx 400h SE-L SVT with rear seat dvd system.

Can anyone please point me in a direction how to play dvd movie on both screens. When I press the foot hand break dvd plays ok in front screen but cannot manage to get the movie playing on rear screens.

Am I missing any settings to play the movie on rear screens. I also noticed red white  yellow leads unplugged in the rear seats storage.

Thank you very much for the help in advanced.

Hi there sorry to hear of your issue.

To the best of my knowledge there’s no interaction between the front screen and the rear screens. The wires you’ve found would normally connect to a DVD player and the colours correspond to left and right audio (red and white) and video (yellow).

Could the DVD player have been removed prior to you getting the car?

Depending on which ICE system you have there is either a DVD player under the drivers seat, or one of the rear screen units has a DVD player. The front DVD system has no connection to the rear, completely independent systems.

I didn't know that any of the rx400s could play a DVD in the front screen. I have a 2006 rx400se-l with rear dvd screens in the front seat head rests. The DVD drive is under the driver's seat.   The wires in the front seat pockets are to connect external A/V feeds.

Netsri, where did you put your DVD disc? I'm wondering if mine might also output to the front screen.......?

Hi Netsri,

Your front system is different to mine.  Where you have the "audio" button, I have a "clock" button.  I don't think mine plays dvds in the front, but I will test later when my wife brings it home.  However, from what others have posted, I think the front and rear systems are totally separate.

Your rear screens look the same as mine.  Your rear dvd player may also be the same as mine, but I can't tell as yours has the cover closed.

The wires in the driver's seat pocket are meant to connect to an external source, such as laptop or games console.  I don't believe they are meant to connect to any other source within the car.
