Voice recognition, does it work for you?

i use voice recognition every day for dialing phone numbers

and very rarely have an issue with it ...this is in my IS though

i wouldn't of thought the model would make any difference

as i'm sure the voice recognition is the same across the brand

To be fair I gave up on it in my 2014 CT and haven’t even bothered trying in my 2018 so it might have improved.

Mine worked 75% of the time, but I only used it to ring a few people plus to ask the sat nav to "go home"

To be fair the whole infotainment is a bit rubbish

Quick dial works for the couple of numbers set.

Works fine for me on my 2014 CT Advance for phone dialling.  What disappoints me though is I can't use voice commands on the satnav which is a backward step as this was available on my 2006 IS250. I guess you need the higher spec satnav for voice recognition to work with it?

The infotainment system could indeed be better but that's more or less my only 'issue' with the car. It does the job but could be easier/better.

No. It works fairly well at low speed, but as soon as you get to motorway speed, it becomes confused by the background noise. The main thing for me is that they're too many steps to perform the simplest tasks. It's much quicker to manually work though the menus and less prone to errors. Besides, you can't dictate text messages etc.

I keep meaning to make a note of the ridiculous misinterpretations - one I remember was Great Ayton was recognised (misrecognised) as Peterborough.

The phone voice recognition has never worked one single bleeding time
