Hi everyone, just a quick one. Are the headlights on a 250 made from plastic or glass. I need to know this as I’m putting a ceramic coating on them. But need to know what they are made from before choosing correct ceramic. TIA

I’m going to try some ceramic on them for a bit of winter protection.

Good move. I'm battling with mine as they started to go yellow when I got the car. Have compounded them a couple of times then use a sealant on them.

Mine are still in good nick. This is just a preventative measure. What sealant did you use.

Wowo's crystal sealant. It's great stuff and long lasting, I top up every now and then. Use it on wheels as well as windows.

What’s it like on windows and do you use a specialist glass cleaner/ compound before applying it.

I applied it back in May originally on side and rear windows and it's still there. Lasts about 6 to 8 weeks on the front so a more specialised one for there would be better. I clayed the windows before applying.

Soft 99 products are really good. I’ve used fusso coat loads of times. It’s brilliant stuff. Jackies a good lad as well.

Have you got ceramic on the car or just trying the headlights first? What colour is yours? You like your detailing as well by the sounds of it.

I done the whole car in ceramic king with amazing results. I have a USB f-sport. Well into my detailing. Might be getting set up myself. I’ll try and send you a vid of the finished car. I can’t send it here for some reason.

Sounds good. I'm slowly thinking about ceramic but not on this car. I will continue to practice on this one before possibly doing a ceramic in the future.

The Wowo's was a step up but it's fine, possibly tac systems moonlight next over carpro essence.

Is250 sel. Done a few bits like wrapping the interior wood to a carbon effect but everything else is standard. Got it 2 years ago and really like it. cfb2d7393350d9892f8e2005d5bd6715.jpgb54d7c4df1832b8f2acd21cc884dfa7d.jpg

Yeah did the paint myself. It was my first attempt at correction rather than polish. It came up ok but was just using a simple da so will be getting another one.
I'm going to do the car in sections next time over a few weeks as it's a long way from perfect but it will be 12 next year.
I live in South East London

I used a DA on mine with scholl S20 then refined with Koch chemie M2. It’s about 80% good. Not perfect though. I doing some rotary training in December. That would then get it closer to factory finish. These ceramics I use can be used outside as well too. Hour curing, and simple to use. Let me know if you need any help.

Thanks fella. Just had a look at them, did you get them from in2detailing?

When I did mine I used carpro fixer which is similar to s20. I wasn't trying to get it totally perfect just better. Really brought the flake out and gave the paint a good shine. Maybe next year I will do some more to it but now the winter is nearly here I will just maintain it.

I bought direct from CNS. The owner Leigh gives me trade discount and stuff. And loads of advice. I used ceramic king, then use G1 as sacrificial layer after every maintenance wash. There glass guard is also brilliant stuff and easy to use. Lasts a lot longer than other products. If you have WhatsApp I can send the small vid of my car after ceramic king.
