I have just bought a power folding mirror kit for my ct200h, does anyone know the wiring diagram for power folding mirrors on these cars at all?

Thank you.

hi

where did you purchase this item from

my partner misses having power folding mirrors

Posted

I got the driver's side door panel off and realised that everything is pretty much plug and play. Only thing that took a while was routing the cables from the door through the grommet into the cabin.

Swapping the mirror mechanism took around half hour. At the moment only the driver's side is done. Also the button that came with doesn't work for some reason. I am investigate this at the minute.

The mirror however closes when you double lock the car and opens when you unlock the car.

Any questions let me know.

Hi everyone,

I have fitted these and they work great. The passenger side one however looks to close slightly more than the drivers side one. Is this normal on the CT? Are yours the same or they should close exactly the same?

I'm assuming this kit will allow cars without any type of power folding factory parts right?

Did you ever figure this out?

I am in the USA and just retro fitted power folding mirror power acuators from JDM mirrors into the USDM housings.  They fit 100%, zero issues.

I too have found that the passenger side folds in more than the driver side.  Our cars are LHD.  My left side (driver) doesn't go in all the way like the right side (passenger side does.

See attached picture:
Driver- 1st picture

Passenger - -2nd picture

I have read on the BMW forums that this is VERY common that one side will fold in more than the other.  It's because of angle and how the mirror is different from each side...etc.
I also went on a Malasia ct200h fb group and someone posted a picture of theirs and the left side of the car's mirror didn't fold in as much as the right as well....

Too add a couple more, this was what someone posted on the Malasia CT group.

Take note of the front of the picture on the left.  You can clearly see how close the mirror is to the window/body.

And here is a back shot... although you can't see both from the back you can see that the other mirror is not all the way in close to the window like the passenger side is...  So I DO believe this is probably a common thing.  It just seems silly that it's not symmetrical.

My kit came from Japan directly. They were from the Prius, which is a direct replacement for the CT also. I did a search at the time and found out they're all like this so just lived with it will I sold the car a couple of years ago.

Appreciate the response back!

I wasn't sure the other night so I ended up picking up a driver side JDM mirror (good to have a spare honestly...)  And I picked up a USDM ES motor mount here in the USA just if nothing else to compare...

I figure this is the cost of "modding"... sometimes ya gotta buy stuff that will either ultimately not get used or will get destroyed in order to figure out if it will work or not..

When it's all said and done I'll have a left and right spare JDM power actuator.    It's a shame about the CT platform in terms of modding.. there isn't that much info on stuff like this.

I used all OEM components and the beauty of all this is it was pretty much all plug and play, even down to the OEM power folding mirror switch in the dash.  I just needed to run two sets of wires to the footwells.  My doors were already pre-wired.   So goofy how lexus excludes so many options on certain models...smh.

I appreciate your pictures at least.   Makes me realize that I wasn't going crazy.  The sheer OCD in my was going to dismantle and take everything fully apart again just to see if I was doing something incorrectly.

The REALLY silly part is the manual power folding mirrors both fold in super tight to the mirror.  So it makes me wonder if there is a limitation to the power actuators or if they are just the same one and it limits the turn in because of the side difference...etc.

Do you remember the yea prius power folding mirror actuators that you got by chance?  I ask only because I am creating a how-to for the folks on FB/clublexus and the forums and figured if there is another option for people to look at (in this case the prius mirrors), I can add that into the write up.

Thanks,

-Nigel

I don't remember exactly, but got a feeling from the 3rd gen Prius.
