@NemesisUK That one is pretty impressive, the demise of retail in this country means that the kind of shops where you could actually examine these things in detail prior to purchase are few and far between unfortunately.

Whilst in Australia back in May the Lexus dealer in Perth put me onto a specialist scale model car store in Jondaloop Mall, so whilst Mrs Rat perused for something called ‘ A Handbag’ I know I have no idea either I went to the store and was both amazed and disappointed as the range of stuff and quality was incredible, unfortunately 2 days before some Chinese tourists bought the complete Lexus and Toyota stock........... I sulked for the rest of the day 😟

There was an 1/18 LFA on eBay a week or so ago like that rcf. Think it sold quite quick and was over 200 quid.

I also bought the blue RCF model, gave a silly offer which was obviously countered by me but still got it for a reasonable price. Not sure how it differs from the Kyosho model but it seems to have opening doors, boot and bonnet that reveals some nice engine detail. They both arrive about November in one piece I hope.

Had a surprise this morning the first of the two RCF models I bought on e-bay turned up. This was the rather cheaper model that I had certain reservations about buying, but I shouldn't have worried it is absolutely fantastic the detail and finish is of the very highest standard. OK it's in blue not red but it is a worthy addition to my die cast collection.

That's a good thing :wink3:

Are you going to detail it?

I didn't realise it was a model at first. The level of detail is amazing.

Indeed it is, and this was the cheaper of the two I bought the other one hasn't turned up yet but it'll have to be very good to be better than this. Even the callipers are correct as is the pattern on the discs, the wheels turn and the steering wheel follows. There is suspension that works and the finish is superb. Not sure how many are left but the seller on e-bay does accept offers.

That’s a cracking model - the more expensive one you have ordered will have to go some to top it as the detail is excellent.

It’s in the right colour as well 😉

I've just read through some details of the Kyosho model compared to the one I've just received and by all accounts it's a non opening model i.e. the bonnet etc. and having seen some of the close up details it looks a lot like the Kyosho falls down on wheel detail. Too soon to draw conclusions as I haven't received the Kyosho yet

The second model I bought arrived today, it's very nice and if you have an orange car worth having. But at nearly £200 with the £16 duty extra I had to pay certainly not worth it plus no doors or boot, bonnet open so it's just a model of the car. The first one in blue for just under £100 is better in every respect.
