Hello, I know this has been covered before but I've never really found a definitive answer to go buy...

Anyway, has anyone ever had their LS600h hybrid Battery replaced at a dealer, and if so, what was the total cost?

I enquired at Hybrid Battery Solutions re repairs but was advised to get a quote from Lexus in the first instance.

Although helpful, I assumed that HBS had never repaired one because they were going through what they thought

had to be done and it was extremely involved (a/c removal, entertainment system removal). Anyone thinking

this is going to be like a Prius Battery repair is in for a big shock!

Any help much appreciated as I'm now in the market for one these of these cars...

I'm quite friendly with the Service Manager at my local Lexus dealer. He tells me they have never had to change a Battery in a 600.

I always assumed like all other hybrid models that the Battery pack is under the boot floor/rear seats...if so why would removal entail disassembly of the dashboard?

Steve, I've just watched a video of a hybrid Battery removal on a 600...….and it is definitely in the boot. So, just like you, I'm mystified as to why dashboard removal is mentioned.

Hi guys, who ever mentioned dashboard removal (not me!) I stated the entertainment system - which HBS told me.

If you know these cars, there is an entertainment system (radio, DVD etc) for the rear passengers operated by a central

consol....HBS were talking about this, which obviously makes sense.

Thanks for all your replies, I'm hoping the fact that nobody has provided a cost figure for the Hybrid Battery replacement

means that nobody has had one done.

Hi .. having done the research on Hybrid batteries before buying my first Lexus I was comfortable with the purchase as the Hybrid Health checks had all been done and failures are rare indeed ( although I doubt Lexus would admit otherwise ) so don't be put off my LS600 is / was 10 years old and no problems

If your in the market for an LS600h RSR with 86k miles in superb condition .. I sold mine today to WEBUYANYCAR I think this site is owned by British Car Auctions so pick up a brochure and get yourself along there for a bargain .. Registration is HD08YYU .. to say I am a broken man is an understatement I absolutely LOVED that car  😧

I have read somewhere ( heaven knows where though ) that hybrid batteries are not replaced in one lump but the bad bits are just replaced piecemeal.

Generically there must be other cars/vehicles with similar set-ups that have had hybrid Battery attention..... just a question of finding the appropriate repair specialists I guess ... somewhere

The Battery back on the 600 is in the boot. Hence the smaller boot space compared to the 460. If your car also has the rear entertainment pack, there will be additional equipment in the boot that will need to be removed. Again it's very unlikely the whole Battery pack would need to be replaced, usually the few bad cells can be replaced to get things back to normal operations
