Nav in the HUD

First day with the NX and so a question or two.  Regarding the nav directions in the HUD is it really only the last 600 yards before a turn appears in the HUD?  I was hoping the HUD was going to show the next waypoint irrespective of distance.

The next waypoint is always on the main nav screen but the HUD only shows the next waypoint as you approach it.  Is this the case with all NXs?

This is certainly the case with mine in the display between the dials (no HUD in Luxury). I'd assume it's the same, i.e. HUD mirrors functionality elsewhere.

On a motorway trip yesterday the next waypoint is shown in the HUD at 1.8 miles to run so that’s better.
