It makes sense. I don't think there's any perfect solution. My goal with this thread was just to understand how far Lexus allow to change this type of settings (either by ourselves or through main dealers).

Thanks,

Bruno

In short, this feature does not exist on any of Lexus' models.

I used to have a Renault that had this features, and it worked a treat. The indicators flashed and there was a discreet beep to confirm that the car had locked/unlocked. There was (is?) a flaw with the system though: my brother also had a Renault at the time... a brand new top of the range Espace. Within two days the Battery was flat and he could not understand why. Logs showed that the car had locked/unlocked itself continuously all night long without his knowledge, simply because the car was on the drive, with the cardkey a short distance away in the hallway.

Good point... 🙂 I believe the car is able to know if someone is sitting in the passanger seat but anyway I was just wondering. I'm not sure how Renault managed this in their cars (not sure if they needed the key to be somewhere inside in the car so this would only be activated if you took the key with you...

Anyway, thanks for the help.

Not just Renault Most GM cars do this too.  Once the fob is certain distance from the car and a certain amount of time has elapsed, the car automatically locks.  (my last 3 Corvettes (2000, 2006, 2016) had this feature, as did my 2051 Lincoln )  This is not new technology, but Lexus, as usual is way behind the curve.  My 2021 NX300 does not support this feature.
