No sorry it doesn't make that noise. That's not a noise I've yet come across I have just had to deal with the normal noises from the dashboard and door cards. Does it make the noise when your driving?

Yes I also have a creek when driving from around the centre dash area.

I don’t think the needle’s move quick enough to make the noise when driving, plus with fans, engine and stereo noise being on I wouldn’t anyway, it’s just on start up when they sweep, not a biggy, just a very mild irritation 🤣

If it's a creek when you push down on top of the dash about 4 inches behind the middle air vents then there is a fix. I took out the vents and they have a plastic ball that fits into a socket ( rubbish description) . I put some grease on the ball and it stopped. Need to be super careful as you can mark your dash like I did so I need to fix it.

The dash is known to rattle a bit toward the front where the windscreen is and you can push rubber bungs down where it joins the window and that helps.

There is an upgrade they can do with some of the clips to help as well but means dash off. It's best done if you haven't had the airbag recall done as that requires dash off so is then only a cheap job to fit the new clips. If not I wouldn't worry.

Thank you very much 😊 do you have a progress thread on your car? It would be good to see it and the things you have done 😁

I actually would have had the DVD nav disc off you but I have decided to change the unit itself to a more modern one. Thank you anyway though 👍

Evening all

So the majority of the parts I've been ordering have arrived, the first thing I fitted was the rear boot struts, wow what a difference, I can now lift it up with a single finger, well worth the purchase and I highly recommend it if you haven't done this already.

I thought this was pretty cool, just looking round the car the other day I noticed the protective wrapping from new was still on the nearside rear door's sill kick plate 😳

I'll be mainly fitting the bits at the weekend so plenty of updates then 😬

Good evening all

I didn't think it would be this long until I posted again but work and renovating a house mean very little time for the Lex sadly 😫

The car has been filthy and I've hated it, I haven't even had the time to fit all the little bits I've bought for it, apart from the new number plates, I fitted these today.

So I had a spare few hours to tickle the outside and fit my new naughty tinted raised gel number plates 🙈

And my new tinted, raised gel lettering number plates, I have these on every vehicle I have, got them on the van too, really freshens things up, they are naughty, and Mr plod probably wouldn't be too happy if they were bored and wanted something to do, but 🤷‍♂️

Morning mate looking good. When you say tickle is that what I say to the Mrs when I say a quick wash and 4 hours later I'm still at it?

As your a professional how do you find the paint? And what did you do to it? I really grew to love mine although silver wasn't my first choice, as the shine that comes off it really amazed me.

Haha that's exactly what I mean, a four+ hour 'quick clean' the wives love it don't they 😂

The paint is typical Japanese, quite thin and soft, but does seem to be much better quality than Honda, Subaru and the like, I'm very much looking forward to booking some time off and dedicating to the car, it does require correction but being silver hides it very well.

I agree, wouldn't have been my first choice in colour, but fully prepared and protected silver paint does look stunning and incredible glossy.

I used to have a black type r ep3 so I know about Honda paint.

What did you use on the lexus?

I didn't see the fleck in the paint until I had my first ever go at paint correction earlier this year but now it really shows up in the sun. Mines currently got Wowo's crystal sealant on it and it's probably the best it's looked.

Yeah once those unsightly marring and scratches have been removed it's a different vehicle, on any car, then ensuring the paint is taken care of correctly afterwards the car will always look it's best after a clean.

My Lex only got a wash yesterday but I finished it in CarPro Reload, if you haven't tried it, please do, it is an incredible product.

Fitted my seatbelt cushions today, I like these as they are identical to the seats, with the holes etc, they match perfectly 👌

Thanks and sorry for all the questions. Would reload go over essence then to help preserve that? I'm thinking of trying that next.

Can't wait to see the other updates as I've not seen any detailing work done on one of these before.

No problem at all 😁

Yeah it will sit over most things, definitely recommend Reload, I've used almost everything on the market 'quick detailer' wise and I just come back to reload time and time again, and now I wont use anything else, and over time and after each application the surface gets slicker and glossier and if course adds protection.
